Things may be a little…, let’s just say it, a LOT crazy right now, but thank goodness we’ve still got ART.
*I got to start the year booking the first self tape I made for 2025: a business photo shoot. I got to work and hang out with some lovely artists, cast and crew alike and have a fab couple of days in lovely Philadelphia.
*The following week, rather than do a reading of my solo show, Single What? Female, at QED as planned, I ended up in the dentist chair. My debit card got hacked, I got the nasty cold going around, and then I cracked a front tooth(!). BUT the following Monday, I got two new front teeth and all is well. I am working on rescheduling my reading.
*I went from the dentist chair to The Playground Experiment to read a new short play-in-progress by Matt Kaplan where I played a woman (opposite the amazing Diana Cherkas) getting a second chance at rock star fame - or will she?
*2/15 I got to, again, be part of Across A Crowded Room - a programs for emerging and established musical theater writers to pair up and write 20 minute musicals. This year I played opposite the wonderful Laura Cetti, as a ghost who ends up helping a frustrated writer move on to their next series. The writers were Nick Radu-Blackburn, Adam Spedding, and Ioana Buburuzan.
*I was invited to be part of Kit Goldstein-Grant’s piece - a quirky interpretation of Coppelia - which was part of Theater Now’s evening of new work, where Little Women lyricist Mindi Dickstein was there to critique and encourage. (And I got to get my collaborator Richard Binder in on it as well!)
*We’ve had two fab new No Name shows, and BinderSuze is a regular contributor. We’ve been performing our newer mashups and will be doing that again this Friday 3/7. We also are going to get back to recording videos of our mashups as while the live shows have been wonderful, not everybody can get to them so it’s time to get back to sharing our mashups on line.
*3/10 I’m so excited to be part of the 29-hour reading of Front Row To Murder, in a collaboration of GroundUp Productions and the Barnstormers Theater.  There’s been a murder at the theater and I’m the victim’s wife - or am I his killer? Come and over to A.R.T./New York and find out!
*3/15 I’ll be making a cameo with a couple of fellow Ides veterans at the 11th Annual Ides of March Extravaganza from The Rigano Songbook. It will a fab crew of new voices singing the fab Rigano brothers songs. We’ll be at the new venue Caveat, Saturday 3/15- the actual IDES!

In the meantime, audition season continues, and I am back out there pounding the pavement and singing my face off. If you need this merry, mixed, mezzo, click that contact button!
Until next time, PEACE ✌🏽

    When not pandemibaking...
I have finally started a website! I just got these beautiful new headshots done by L Morgan Lee of BLUEphotography, and at last have a place to display them.
I've also been getting this self-tape thing DOWN. Madison Avenue Baptist Church, with whom I've been the alto for going on twelve years, like most churches, has gone virtual, so we are making videos of solos and hymns for the time being. (Someday, I'll release an outtake reel.)
There've been other opportunities, as well, for practicing this process: virtual choir and concert videos.
I've been lucky enough to work with Prospect Theatre Company and, thus, was asked to be part of their lovely video featuring Peter Mills' tune "Two Buoys". (I come in with the alto part and drums>)
    Two Buoys
Next, a dear friend - a jazz musician and choir director,  presently living in Italy - started up Singers Without Borders and asked me to be part of this uplifting number: How Can I Keep From Singing?
Lastly, The Rigano Songbook asked 42(!) of their closest friends to help out with this wonderful song about an all too relevant and growing segment of our lives as we try to communicate with proper social distancing: Screen To Screen
The Rigano has a concert planned for 3/13...and then the world shut down. But far be it for them to not have a show. Yes, the Ides of March Extravaganza is now the Ides of APRIL and will be in virtual form. When those videos go up, I'll be sure to share here.
In the meantime, contact me here if you would like me to be part of YOUR virtual - and/or, eventually, LIVE - project.

    Peace ✌️
