It's been a busy time and it's been GOOD.
*A couple of weeks ago I scored an industrial print shoot for Verizon playing a consulting surgeon for one their latest communication products for hospitals.
*I recently completed an Advanced Scene Study class with Karen Kolhaas from the Atlantic Theatre. This is my third class with her and I plan on continuing. She is aMAzing and so were my classmates.
*Last year my friend Nicole Jesson, fab actress and fellow Emerson alum, invited a me and two friends from grad school, Malini Singh MacDonald and Elizabeth June, to work on a project about family history. What started as doing DNA tests and talking about family trees, has lead to Insert Name. I am so excited to bring this piece to life in a staged reading TOMORROW night. Yes, in person, in a theatre. I am squealing as I type. We had our first rehearsal last night, and already felt pretty good about it. (yes, that was me squealing again.) *Last week I was chosen to be part of Volume 151 with The Playground Experiment and I'll be back Monday 10/25 Volume 152. Check out The PGE on their YouTube Channel.
*The Village Halloween Parade will be BACK this year! Woo hoo! The theme this year is "All Together Now" and includes puppets designed from children's drawings. It's been a rough time, as we all know, so as things start opening up, we're looking at ways to get back into life and PLAY. I can't wait to get back out there with a 10-12 foot high puppet (perhaps even the one drawn by my son!) and play with the crowd again.
*Lastly, if you are a performer looking for a specialized workout, I highly recommend Powerful Performer created by dancer and physical therapist Jenna Kantor.  Depending on what you need, flexibility, core, lower back, etc, she will have a fab program for you, accountability buddies and group sessions, and plenty of stories. You will have a good time AND gain flexibility, core strength, and be motivated to keep moving even after the program is done. 
Also, I got 9 self-tapes done in like, two days, can I get an AMEN? Send some love out with them, won't you?

So here I am in skull pajamas for a scene in which I have been sipping magic mushroom tea with some fab ladies. Thank you ladies of Sugar Baby - Dir. Rebecca Dearden and Writer Sophia Conger; and Lavora Perry for the heads up about them - for having me as part of the fun and the journey of this impending series. 
Before that, I was camping, CAMPING, on the Cape (thanks to my Bronx Mom Crew) but still managed to be part of Volume 148 of The Playground Experiment's play reading series. I love the work The PGE does and the actors who are part of it. And luckily they were not distracted by the rain pummeling my tent just as our scene started. 
Speaking of The PGE, I will be part of their FUN-raiser this evening! Contact them to check it out starting at 6pm, but even if you can't watch, please donate if you can as they do such great work for playwrights and actors.

I came back here and was like, "What? I have not updated since MAY?!" That's crazy! But only because I have indeed been busy, with many things!
*I literally just got off the Zoom with The Playground Experiment's Volume 146. They are such a wonderful group and who I can't wait to work with IN PERSON. There is also stellar material and fabulous actors to watch and with whom to work. Rock on, PGE!
*This past Sunday I was part of a concert put together by Song A Week host Tamora Wilson. The Songs We Write celebrated original music  written primarily by members of the Song A Week community started by James Tristan Redding, who now leads thew group from Nashville where he is finally making his money as a songwriter. BinderSuze was there singing music by James among others 
*Last weekend  was a first IN PERSON read through of a play I've been working on with three other ladies which went really well. Nothing like sitting there and going "We have a SHOW!" Keep checking back for a snazzy title and potential dates. 
*The ever fabulous Karen Kolhaas, with whom I have taken a couple of classes, asked me to be an actor in one of her directing classes. (And I believe I have a new monologue to work from the play Lynn Nottage's play Sweat because of it.)
*Writer Rachel Kunstadt asked me to be part of a first table read of her new musical. It was so great to sit in a room with live people again and test out new material
*I got to carry and manipulate a giant butterfly puppet (an Eastern Blue) for The Great Pollinator Ramble up in Catskill with Processional Arts. It was a HOT day, but it was wonderful to see and be one of the many large butterflies and bees around town for this event which was promoting an art exhibit in town. 
*I will start Standardized Patient work in September! I auditioned and got the gig in mid-June, and will have my second training session this week. Helping doctors communicate with patients better, I'm all in for that.
*I will also start business role-play work in September after a training session this week. Getting to dust off my improv skills to help business people communicate with staff and coworkers is yet another thing I am here for.
*I continue to "work out" with various groups I met during the pandemic, reading through plays and musicals. I even got to MEET some of them IN PERSON (Gasp!) for a reading of Falsetto's (I read "the doctor") and had a ball. 
*Fingers crossed for a possible TV role (if I book it, you bet I'll post it here!)
In the meantime, between submissions and callbacks, I am also gladly catching up with friends, doing summer family things, and continuing a second round of the #100DaysofDrumming challenge. Oh and watching the Red Sox WIN...a lot. (9 games ahead of the Yanks!) I hope you all are getting out (safely) and seeing friend and family, and enjoying the SUMMAH as they say in my native New England.

As we sloooowly return to live performance, I have been having THE BEST time working with the folks from, Prospect Theatre on this interactive, outdoor theatrical experience called Tree Tales. 15 writers were asked to write "choose-your-own-adventure" style stories and then actor/creators were asked to come in and create characters to guide the audience along. 
It has been long-delayed joy to work with people, live, and in-person, (though still masked and distanced), making music and characters and, heck, just playing again as artists. We had our first performance at the Crabapple Grove in Riverside Park this past Sunday and have one more performance this coming Saturday. For more information and to register, go HERE. 
ALSO...I may now be fully vaccinated (HUZZAH!), but both Theatre and TV and film sets are still making sure we are safe and requiring testing. I have booked some BG work on Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (a show I would work on just for the clothes), and with getting tested for both Maisel and Prospect, between yesterday and today, I will have been tested 3 times. But I will also get fitted for a costume for Maisel AND then be on set, and then perform in a live show SAFELY.  
As my husband says, LIFE IS GOOD.

Yesterday, my husband and I had a date day, rather we did an ad shoot for T-Mobile. It may have been cold and rainy - a downpour nearly cut off our part of the shoot! - but we had a fab day and everyone we dealt with on set was lovely, professional, and fun. It was a great experience, particularly as it was my husband's first time doing anything like this! (Props to my MIL who watched our boy all day while we were out and allowed Jeff and I to actually have a date night post-shoot.)

Playwright/screenwriters are given prompts and then asked to write the first 10 minutes/pages of a piece that will be brought to fruition later. *Back in college, I met a brilliant guy named Marty Barrett. He is an actor, writer, poet, comic, IT guy; whatever the job, if he hasn't already done it, he could do it. This includes being the host of a comedy variety show called Verdugo HUUT, based in LA. Like many shows, this one has gone virtual, and thus is allowing for The New York Show. Marty invited his NYC friends to contribute, so check out the show starting this Saturday 7pm at the website. 
In the meantime, I'm taking a commercial class with Erica Palgon, Fearless Cold Reading with Karen Kolhaas, still singing with the ever fabulous MABC choir virtually, and now I am also supporting my son at baseball games and swimming.

At the beginning of the month, I was part of Seth Bisen-Hersh's Talent Showcase. In the middle, I was a vocalist and percussionist for The Rigano Songbook's 8th Annual Ides of March Extravaganza. Last year, the concert had to go virtual after being cancelled the DAY BEFORE due to the pandemic, and this year, as David and Paul have been learning all sorts of new virtual theatre skills, we made it fully virtual. Next year, we hope everyone can join us for the show LIVE once more. 
Later this month, you all should check out Madison Avenue Baptist Church's Country Western Good Friday service. Whether or not you are a church goer, it's a killer line up of music and I sing with some of the best in the biz.

There be things coming up! I love closing out February with a bang. TONIGHT 2/22, I'll be part of a reading of a segment of Bonita Ellery's "Mother's Milk". Friday night, No Name...and a Bag O' Chips is celebrating it's 27th anniversary (WHAT?!) Yes, it is the longest running comedy variety night in New York City and we will be celebrating VIRTUALLY Friday night 7pm, on Facebook Live.
Seth Bisen-Hersch, who's musical Love Quirks was a critics pick in "the before times", has a showcase and I will be part of it singing a couple of my favorite show tunes 3/2 7pm, also on Facebook Live. 
One of my favorite events will be coming up in March as well: The Rigano Songbook's Ides of March Extravaganza! This virtual event is being put together as we speak. When there's an exact date, you bet I will be sharing! It definitely is excellent event you don't want to miss!

There's a new president! (Seriously, Joe Biden is president and Kamala Harris is Vice President and no matter what Trump and his...people are saying, Joe and Kamala are IN!)
We actually got, like, REAL SNOW, as in, more than a dusting here in NYC!
And I've got new things to talk about!
SO, one of the reasons I have loved doing No Name for as long as I have is because of the fab people I get to see perform and meet. David Lawson has been a No Name regular storyteller and is a favorite of mine, so when he asked me to contribute to the Queens Theatre At Home Storyteller series last year, of course I jumped at the chance. Check it out tomorrow night at 7pm on Zoom and stick around for the live talkback after! 
Valentine's Day, it looks like we'll be home AGAIN so why not spend it supporting some art with The Playground Experiment's FUNdraiser, which has the theme of "Unlucky in Love"? Playwright's test out the first 10 pages/minutes of a new play they are working on, and I'll be one of the actors. I did this last year and it was so fun and such a good night. Check it out 2/14 with the ones you love (pets included). 
In March, I'll be part of the Seth Bisen-Hersch showcase, and then I will be returning to the Rigano Songbook's Ides Of March Virtual Extravaganza. More details on those shows to come!

Oh my goodness, happy new year everybody! 
While 2020 was indeed a nightmare lit by a dumpster fire, I have to say, I am one of those people who had some pretty great things happen. I started the year getting representation! Huzzah for Evelyn Francisco and the team at The Talent Express for taking me on and setting me up with many a self-tape and virtual audition!
I got to be a voice in the fascinating virtual - pre-COVID-19 even - experience ASSEMBLE written and produced by Jess Kaufman and Talya Chalef which was played out in January at IKEA's all over the world.
I got new headshots after...far too long. Thank you L. Morgan Lee at bluephotonyc for the fab shots which grace this website. Oh yeah, I finally got a website!
I was part of a first reading of the Zoom adaptation of Rebecca Salomonsson's Outrageous Fortune, playing Prospero. 
I started working with The Playground Experiment doing readings of new work. This family of artists has put out so much incredible work, it's a joy to test out material with them as an actor, and I look forward to testing out some writing with them as well. I got to close out the year reading the role of Prue in Bonita Elery's short play Hot Potato, which you can see right HERE. (SO MANY GOOD LINES. Thank you, Bonita!)
I booked two short films, Geminus and What Do I owe You? and worked their covid-safe sets. Footage to come!
After my church gig went fully virtual mid-March, they thankfully found a way to keep our sextet singing! It's been great to learn the ins and outs of recording videos for our virtual services. We hope, of course, that we'll be able to do it live again, but for now, you can check us out on YouTube or head over to the Madison Avenue Baptist Church website.
The Trump Administration kept me busy with my satire series on Facebook. But man, sometimes there is not enough time to catch up with all the headlines. But if you check it out HERE you can see that I'm trying...
It has been I make a book out of the series...I'll keep you all posted.
For the new year, I'm already getting the submissions out, working on a new draft of my solo show Single What? Female, will be singing through The Drowsy Chaperone as Trix and, of course, recording for church. 
And let's cross our fingers for Georgia people. (They vote tomorrow!)
